Jazz Ensembles at North Side

The Wildsiders Jazz Band at North Side High School is a powerhouse of talent, passion, and dedication to jazz music. With a legacy of excellence, the Wildsiders have earned ISSMA Jazz State Finals Championships in 2018, 2019, and 2024, solidifying their place as one of the top jazz ensembles in the state!

Auditions for the Wildsiders Jazz Band take place in mid-November—so start preparing now! The band is made up of some of the most dedicated and talented musicians at North Side, and we are always looking for students who are ready to take their musicianship to the next level.

The Jazz Combo is also formed from members of the Wildsiders, offering students a chance to explore jazz improvisation in a smaller ensemble setting.

North Side also offers a second jazz band. Jazz Band #2 (sometimes referred to as Rehearsal Stage Band) is open to students who want to build their jazz technique, improve their improvisation, and gain performance experience.
