The North Side Marching Legends are an exciting, high-energy outdoor ensemble which begins in early July and lasts through early November. The Marching Legends are comprised of the following sections:

Woodwinds: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone

Brass: Trumpet, Mellophone, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba

Percussion: Snare Drum, Tenor Drum, Bass Drum, Marimba, Vibraphone, Xylophone, Auxiliary Percussion

Color Guard: These performers bring the show to life with choreography, spinning rifles, and flags. As the main visual element of our performance, they add movement and excitement to the field.

Performances

The Marching Legends proudly perform at home varsity footballs games and competes in Marching Band competitions throughout the fall. Football games take place on selected Friday nights, while competitions are held on Saturdays from September through early November. The Marching Legends compete in the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA).

Commitment & Attendance

Marching Band is a group activity, and consistent attendance is crucial to our success. Before committing to the season, please review the Marching Band Calendar on our website. 

Band Fees

Participation in Marching Band requires a $140 band fee per student for the full season. This program is not funded by North Side High School or Fort Wayne Community Schools. Instead, we rely on family contributions and fundraising efforts to cover operating costs.

We understand that the band fee may be a financial challenge. Additional costs may arise that are not covered by band fees, but we are committed to making Marching Band accessible for all students. If you need financial assistance, please reach out—we will work with you to make it possible!
